Services for Barbara Hancock Lindsay, 78, of Whigham, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 5, 2010, at Whigham Baptist Church, Whigham, GA, with Rev. Richard McNair and Rev. Harold Burrell officiating.  Active pallbearers will be Kevin Hancock, Shane Cannon, Jeffery Collins, Bill Gordon, Chad Gordon and Steve Ulmer.  Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Mrs. Lindsay passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA.
Mrs. Lindsay was born on March 17, 1931, Cairo, GA, to the late William Groover and Essie Tilley Hancock.  She was a home maker and of Baptist faith.
Survivors include:  son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Janice Lindsay, Whigham, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Joe Groves, Whigham, GA;  grandchildren, Heather and Jason Cassels, Warner Robins, GA, Pamela Groves, Whigham, GA, Brandon and Edie Groves, Nellis Air Force Base, Las Vegas, Nevada;  brother, Wallace Hancock, Whigham, GA; sisters, Gail Ulmer, Whigham, GA and Sue Collins, Cairo, GA;  a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lindsay was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Lindsay, parents, William Groover and Essie Hancock and brother, Mike Hancock.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2010, at Clark Funeral Home.
